Vintage 329 Invites You To Join Us For a
‘Summer Reading’ Evening

New Orleans, Louisiana (June 3, 2011) – It’s most appropriate that a passionate student of history and lover of fine literature would agree to host a special event supporting the Friends of New Orleans Public Library.  Joey Sutton, owner of Vintage 329, has fashioned a remarkably creative evening that pairs three rare books with the talents of three celebrities who will bring these works to life.

On Thursday June 16th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., one of the coolest galleries in the town, Vintage 329 on Royal Street, will host a special performance of three beloved literary classics.   Performers will present theatrical readings from a 1st Edition To Kill a Mockingbird, signed byHarper Lee, a 1955 Special Edition of Robert Frost’s New Hampshire, and Dr. Seuss’ first book with original illustrations from 1937, And To Think I Saw It On Mulberry Street. These collectible works range in value from $1,400 to $10,000.  The purpose of the readings is to illustrate both the timelessness of great literary prose and to experience the sheer joy of reading them aloud.  The evening will help kick-off the “Summer Reading Program” by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.   The June 16th event will afford guests a rare opportunity to view all three works which will be on display at the gallery and available for sale at the event.  Vintage 329 will donate 20% of rare book sales from the June 16th event to FNOPL and 10% of rare book sales from June 17th through July 31st to the non-profit.  Additionally, Vintage 329 will serve as an Official FNOPL book depository for all donated books to the support arm of the New Orleans Public Library.

Don’t miss this special literary evening presented in one of New Orleans’ most unique French Quarter galleries.  Joining Vintage 329 in support of Friends of New Orleans Public Library, is the landmark Hotel Monteleone, who has graciously agreed to provide refreshments for the June 16th kick-off event. RSVP is required to attend, so please call 504-525-2262 or 504-596-2587.
